Faerie

The faerie comprise a bewildering array of species, and this is a clue to their nature, for the faerie are creatures of spirit that are only losely tied to material reality.  For this reason, their material form is subject to easy change, and often reflects their mental state or personality, rather than the form they were born with.  They are masters of illusion and trickery.  Their slight tie to the material makes them long lived, or even immortal in some cases.  Other races find them flighty, inconsistent or trivial, but that is also a consequence of their spiritual nature. Amongst the faerie are elves, goblins, hobgoblins, pixies, sprites.
