Gnome

Gnomes are a subtype of Faerie who are known as inveterate creators - they are always tinkering with devices, or making things. Like all Faerie, they tend to be easily distracted, so they tend to work on a small scale, or they end up with lots of unfinished projects. They are known for their detailed workmanship, and make exquisite and beautiful jewellery, as well as exceptional items of a more mudane nature, although often even their most mundane works will be imbued with minor magical effects to enhance them. Gnomes are normally good natured, but avoid contact with non-fey races. They are often found in forests and other easy-to-hide places, but small communities have sprung up in some human lands where a combination of circumstances means that they feel that they are safe.
