Session 018: Report

General Summary

You successfully interrupted the ritual and stopped the cultists' attempt to bring The Guardian back onto your world. You and the members of The Ragged Hand began to go through the loot in silent agreement, picking what treasures remained on the remains of your foes. While that was going on, Vethykos had convinced Nine-Claws to release all the remaining shadar-kai, a favor he promised to pay back with gold and his own servitude.
The remaining cultists were slain, leaving the silver-masked illusionist Lorcan the only survivor of your assault. Left horribly maimed in the fight, he was in no state to resist as you began to interrogate him. After realizing you had deprived him of his magic ring, he became hysteric and willing to tell you anything you wanted.
The wizard carried a ring which would prevent his soul from being shunted into the Shadow Plane in the event of his death. You convinced him that The Raven Queen could still have a use for the old man, and bring him new life in the form of a Hex Blade. He hesitantly agreed, and as you killed Lorcan, his soul was transferred into the safety of the ring.
With their prince gone and the threat of dwarven attack still imminent, the remaining shadar-kai had no leader and nowhere to go. You managed to convince them to follow you to the surface, where they would be taken to safety. You took the great ritual tome with you on the way out of the ruins, for later study.
After leaving the shadar-kai guarded within a safe distance away from Ashmane Hold, you returned the hammer to the the dwarves. After a brief ceremony at the temple of their goddess Duerra, and after being rewarded for your work, you were unceremoniously escorted out of their inner city.
With your reward in hand, you joined back together with the shadar-kai and the remaining members of the Ragged Hand. The journey forward would take you north, towards The Wildwood Tunnel, a passage which should take you back towards to the surface world and Hastum.
