Guilds and Factions
The East Side is home to several of the city's factions.
Merchant's Guild of Laststall operates of out its guildhall in Merchant's Alley and oversees the main shopping district of the same name as well as the Trader's Hall. The Fighter's Guild operates out of a guildhall just west of the Arena in the same neighborhood and advocates for combatants and military veterans. Eastbay College is located in Zeppet Square and exerts influence over education, research, and magic in the city. The petty nobles are often at odds with the Merchant's Guild or the College about one issue or another, most notably prices of goods and magical bloodlines.

Architecture
The architecture of the East Side varies wildly by neighborhood. Merchant's Alley favors lightly colored wooden and stone houses and multi-level shop/apartment units. The Arena is surrounded by squat, utilitarian, stone houses and large wooden drinking halls. Zeppet's Square has tall spindly tenement houses with small coffeehouses in the first floors. It is also famous for its narrow streets and many bookstores. Finally Oakenshield Park's buildings are mostly constructed with the same brilliant blue stone as Castle Greyscale itself and are similarly grand.
