Ordess

The Ordess are an ethnicity of humans that are known for their fierce independence and strong cultural identity. They are primarily found in the Wild Isles, where they make up a significant portion of the population.   Despite the harsh environment of the Wild Isles, the Ordessie have managed to thrive, building strong, self-sufficient communities. They are a resilient people, and have managed to survive and prosper despite the many challenges they have faced.

Origins

The origins of the Ordess are steeped in myth and legend, with many stories and tales passed down through generations. Some believe that the Ordess migrated from the Seldori Range during either the Age of Contact or Age of Conquest. However, the records of other races and some archaeological evidence may indicate that the Ordess predate conventional contact with humanity. Ordess myths and legend are inconsistent and oft contradictory, but if they are to be believed it may hint at something yet undiscovered.

Culture

The Ordess culture is rich and diverse, with many festivals and celebrations throughout the year. These celebrations often involve music, dancing, and feasting, and are an important way for the Ordess to come together and celebrate their culture and heritage. It has a strong emphasis on oral tradition, storytelling, and music.   The Ordessie are also known for their skilled artisans, with many of them being skilled in woodworking, and weaving. Their art and craftsmanship is highly valued especially as they are produced in small quantities, and their goods are sought after by traders and merchants from all over the known world.   The Ordess are also known for their fierce warriors, and have a strong tradition of martial arts and combat. Many of the Ordess are skilled in the use of traditional weapons such as the axe and spear. Some Ordess have been known to make use of mind altering substances and magic tattoos to improve their martial prowess. They also have a deep respect for nature, and have a close relationship with the land and the creatures that inhabit it.

Society

The Ordess are fiercely independent people, and value personal freedom and autonomy above all else. This is reflected in their societal structure, which is relatively decentralised and lacking in a strong central authority.   The Ordess are a deeply spiritual people, with many of their beliefs and practices stemming from their animist religion.They also have a strong tradition of bardic storytelling, with many Ordess being skilled in the art of storytelling, poetry, and song.   Their society is also organised around the clan system, with many Ordess, identifying strongly with their clan and its history. Clans often have their own land, leaders, and laws, and disputes between clans are settled through traditional methods.
