Yir (i-er)
Yir is the naval port capital of Krak'tex. It is situated 4 meters above sea level, with large walls protecting the inner part of the city that contains the palace were The Krak'tex Empire runs the region and the large marketplace that people come to shop in for all sorts of beautiful clothing, amazing food, or perhaps just to get a glance of the beloved Emperor's concubines. It sees trade by both land and sea since it is on the trade routes for both. This is also the religious centre of the Empire since there is a temple for each of the lawful deities that are still allowed to be worshipped.
This ancient metropolis has been built upon by a few different species because of the changing of hands, but what has not changed is the beauty of the cherry blossom trees that surround this area. The buildings blend into the surrounding nature and are made out of wood. They are up on small stilts so the houses move with the ground during earthquakes, and the roofs are held up by frames with paper walls. It is a busy city that the Emperor makes sure stays his pride and joy. He loves what his family has achieved and aims to keep his ancestors proud and keep his view from the palace a breathtaking sight. He keeps the new in the limelight and hides the old. The people wear very colourful outfits, even those of lower class, so the city looks very bright from the top.

Districts
Closed District- In this model, residential districts isolate themselves by class. Individuals of a similar social stratification occupy each district, creating upper-class, middle-class, and lower-class districts.
Completely within the walls:
Black Docks (Naval Base/Waterfront)- Most of this is the largest port in the Empire, so this is where they house the large battleships. The other part is the nice dock that looks very fancy and is well kept.
Daggerwell Mile (Government District)- This is the district that holds the palace and where all the official stuff happens.
Downbark Wall (Military Garrison)- This includes the headquarters, prison, barracks, and stables, all part of the military garrison, and this is also the district where their families live too.
At least some of it is within the walls:
Breadgate (Upper Residential)- This is where all the rich people live that aren't already living in Daggerwell.
Starlight Road (Permanent Shops and Storefronts/Permanent Market Stalls)- This is where people go to shop until they've had enough. There's the permanent market but also most of the shops and cafes.
Completely outside of the walls:
South Docks (Port)- This is also a very large dock, but it isn't as nice-looking since this is where all the fishing boats come, which means it also tends to smell like fish too. It is a working dock, instead of something to look pretty.
Pearl Bank (Religious District)- This is where all the temples are for all the lawful deities and where those who want to be close to divinity and show their love to them live. This has the most guard presence of the outside districts.
Grey Water (Middle Residential)- This is where most of the normal folk live since it doesn't take them long to access the rest of the city. It's also got more guards then most of the outside districts have.
Salt Tower and Freebridge (Lower Districts)- These two are where the poorer people live and have the least amount of guards so more criminals are running around here.

History
This metropolis was once the home of House Tangiadesh before the drow were cast below for Lolth's treason. But when this family broke away from the Spider Queen to follow the light once more, they returned to their land to find that House Aureliane had taken over. Once they proved to the moon elf house that they really weren't following Lolth anymore, an arranged marriage was made so both parties were happy. That happened just before the war which rocked the world; now this is the home of House Hassir, the human house that drove out the two elven families.
Now Vaelith Aureliane has come back to the city to try and find weaknesses she can use so the two elven families can regain their city, and then hopefully their region.
Points of interest
The palace, the temples, the Black Docks and the marketplace.
Tourism
People come from all over to visit the temples and to have a look at the palace and shop at the market. They also come to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom.
Architecture
The buildings are built on small stilts and are made of wood that matches the local wood, so they blend into the environment. The gently carved roofs are the main focus of the buildings, with posts and lintels supporting them. They have paper-thin walls that are never load-bearing, leaving the heavy lifting to the posts and lintels. This also means the inner rooms are more open and the walls can be moved around depending on their needs. They also have sliding doors, paper windows, and tatami mats across the floors, with a room to take shoes off before walking into the house onto the mats. The buildings do have gaps between them to help control fire from spreading and fire towers to combat it if the need arises.
Geography
The city is in a grassland, so it is mainly covered in grass, but it is on the coast, so it is next to the ocean and also has a river that winds through the city.
Climate
The city sits around the 17'C as an average since it is in a temperate climate. They have warm, humid summers and mild winters, but they do have to be careful of thunderstorms and earthquakes, which can very easily cause problems. They also have a lot of inconsistent rainfall but do have noticable seasons where the rain turns to snow instead.
Natural Resources
Apples, cider, chicken, guinea fowl, goats, sheep, grapes, wine, hay, tobacco, wheat, honey, mead, nuts, oil, olives, spices, abalone, pearls, fish, shellfish, salt and seaweed.
