Yuan-ti
Once believed to be an extinct ancestry, the enigmatic Yuan-ti emerged from the shadows, their existence brought to light by a group of intrepid adventurers in Freeport. Unveiling themselves as members of the ancient Brotherhood of the Yellow Sign, a secretive cult venerating the enigmatic Yellow King, these serpent folk were not alone. Survivors from the Vallosan Empire, devout followers of their ancestral god Yuan, had clandestinely endured the ages in hiding.
The turning point for the Yuan-ti occurred during the incident at the Lighthouse of Drac, where the artifact of Yuan catalyzed a transformation, imparting a more humanoid permanence upon many of the serpent folk. This metamorphosis resulted in Yuan-ti assuming appearances akin to humans but adorned with serpent-like features, including elongated tongues, serpent eyes, scales, and venomous fangs. In contemporary times, they adopt the name "Yuan-ti," a term resonating with the ancient Vallosan language, translating to "Children of Yuan." This reawakening has positioned the Yuan-ti as a mysterious and complex presence, navigating their place in the intricate realms of Ronia.
