Whiskers McTavish
Whiskers McTavish, the de facto "Inn" Cat of the Thatched Roof Inn, is a feline with an unmistakable air of superiority. At 11 years old, he's lived long enough to become a fixture of the establishment, with sharp eyes that hint at an intelligence far beyond most cats. Whiskers is notably communicative, often meowing pointedly when he wants something or giving a slow, judging blink when he disapproves.
He has a bit of an antagonistic streak—he’ll swipe at a guest’s hand if they’re too slow with food or get too close without permission—but his antics have only made him more beloved by the regulars. Rather than the typical role of a mouser, Whiskers prefers the thrill of hunting birds, which he occasionally deposits at the inn’s doorstep as a trophy. On rare occasions, he follows members of the Julius family on their errands through the city, trotting along with his tail held high, though his attention span is fleeting, and he usually returns to the inn long before the task is done.
Whiskers’ place at the inn is solidified not just by his personality, but by the quiet affection he shows the Julius family—on his terms, of course.
