Grand Central
The former city streets of the dwarven capital Techolm are now a war zone. Ancient dwarven warriors, sworn to the defense of the city, refuse to put down their banners and arms. The citizenry has long since retreated below, and the gaping maw of the great Pit yawns beneath the bridges and walkways. The thunder of dwarven cannon still echoes endlessly through the hollowed mountain, and the steady growl of anti-magic field generators permeates the gaps between volleys. Stubborn generals fight street to street, house to house, taking back the ruins of Techolm from the endless dead a sliver of territory at a time. Knights and soldiers push desperately towards the great stone gates of Techolm which have remained breached for over a century.
Behind the front lines, Grand Central Station still stands proudly, a bustle of activity. Part converted military headquarters, part trade hub, it is here that dwarves and humans seeking refuge on the platform transfer from their trains to the dirigible pit ships that will take them down below, whilst glum traders bring their goods up from the depths or lick their wounds from the last pirate skirmish. Gold and ammunition travels up from the platform and vein towns in trade for food from the farms in the Deep Lines . The air is filled with a mix of desperate hope and dismal resignation.
Structure
Shattered military hierarchy, mixed with what remains of the dwarven Knighly orders.
Public Agenda
Retake Techolm. Defend Grand Central Station. Keep the trains moving. Keep the gold flowing.
Assets
Weaponry. Particularly, bar loading artillery, a rare sight outside of Techolm as the military has requisitioned almost all of them for the continuation of their endless war.
History
Once the shining golden city of Techolm at the height of dwarven power and hubris. Now, a blood soaked ruin suspended above a yawning abyss.
Disbandment
The gates were breached by the undead 152 years ago. Since then, Techolm has ceased to be a city, and become a battlefield, although some aspect of it's former splendor still remains in untouched Grand Central Station.
