Redbrands

The Redbrands were an ad-hoc collection of "mercenaries"--in reality little more than bandits from the outskirts of Neverwinter Wood that previously made a living by occassional raids of caravans and individual wagons traveling the Triboar road--that were hired by Iarno Albrek under the guise of Blackstaff to carry out his bidding as thugs and essentially his private small army based out of Phandalin. Their base of operations was Tresendar Manor.
One of their number was captured, interrogated with physical force, and eventually imprisoned by the Cragmaw Four after making the mistake of accosting them outside the Sleeping Giant tavern.
In the following days they were systematically wiped out or driven away from their manor hideout as that group searched for Glasstaff in an effort to get him and his henchpeople out of the picture in Phandalin.
