Hazel Thorfren

Brief History

Hazel was found by Vrissa Thorfren about sixteen yeras ago. It is unknown exactly how old they were when they were found, but couldn't have been more than 2 or three years old. Vrissa believed they had been left out to die by their tribe as it was obvious that Hazel was different to most other ogres. As she grew up those differences became more apparent, she was smaller than most ogres and demonstrated an intelligence beyond that of most ogres too.
Her childhood was a little difficult at first, as people were often a little afraid of her, and she was much bigger than the other children her age. She learnt to be conscious of her size though and took to heart her mother's teachings about kindness and good manners, and soon people accepted her as part of the community. The only thing that seems to rouse her temper is seeing her mum upset, then the unfortunate person who upset her is reminded that she is still an ogre and much stronger than them.

Appearance

Hazel, though small for an ogre, is still larger than most people in Cliffport. Not only she quite tall, but she is also very broad and thick limbed. She is completely hairless as are all ogres, and has the same large ears which come to a downward sloping point at the ends. Her eyes look too small for her face, and her nose and mouth are both broad. Her skin is a pale grey, and her nails black, and she has small tusks which protrude down over her bottom lip.

Personality and Traits

Hazel is polite and well mannered. She is conscious of her size, and moves in a careful manner. She loves to hear tales from the sailors about their adventures, and asks many questions, though not too many as that may be impolite. She has a deep and booming voice, which she has learned to moderate to 'inside voice' when working in the tavern. Her laugh however, she cannot control and although loud and a little harsh still manages to be infectious.
