Vrissa Thorfren

Brief History

Vrissa Thorfren was born in a small town on the Plains of Ellisboia, near the coast. She learned the art of brewery from her father, and had just taken over the family business when the Rising happened. Her entire town was lost underwater and Vrissa had to flee inland with the other survivors from the town. She moved from settlement to settlement for about a year, during which time she found a small ogre child who had been left out, seemingly to die, she took the child with her.
She arrived in Cliffport about sixteen years ago, and decided to stay there to raise the young ogre who she named Hazel. After seven years she married Kimmel Thorfren, a local tavern owner, and returned to her trade of brewing. She is now the barkeep of the tavern and makes several popular ales and meads which draw a good crowd.

Appearance

Vrissa wears her thick brown hair up in a bun most of the time, and has a pair of rimless spectacles which usually perch on the edge of her nose. Her plump, rosy cheeks and warm motherly smile are a welcome sight to all who come to The Shivering Shrimp, providing you mind your manners that is. Unlike her husband, Vrissa doesn't bother with the latest trends in fashion, preferring good stout clothing which will last. She is however fond of colourful shawls, and beaded jewelry.

Personality and Traits

Vrissa is a bit of a motherly figure to those who visit the tavern, she likes to make people feel welcome and tries to keep a homely atmosphere about the tavern. She has an excellent memory, and never has to write down anyones orders. She also remembers the names of all of her regulars, and always makes a habit of enquiring about how their lives are going. She has a ready smile and warm hug for those who need it, but if you don't mind your manners then she is just as ready with a clip around the ears with a tea towel.
