    Disturbing, malicious mists flood the borders of the empire and lands surrounding, abducting some few hundred people of seemingly little in common, then dissapear. Observers attest to hearing things prowling within the mists which sound like massive wolves.

    After conversing with the spirits remaining in the house, Rosavalda "Rose" Durst and Thornboldt "Thorn" Durst, the party discovers a secret path to a hidden basement, and proceed to begin fighting their way through the heart of this dead cult.

    Durst Children Laid to Rest

    The party finds a pair of pristine caskets bearing the names of Rose and Thorn, preserved by some greater good within the land and warded against the evil of the house. Laying their corpses from the attic inside, the ghosts are freed from their fate and thank the party for their aide. After this, the group returns to the attic to rest.

    Arrival of Brokill

    Seeking refuge from the terrors within the mists, Brokill arrives at the entryway of the Durst Estate, and hearing the sounds of combat within, rushes to the fight and finds his friend Gromm Gorekill locked in combat with a pair of ghouls. With the new reinforcements, the party of 4, having lost track of Yakida and Minospryn within the twisting reaches of the mansion, is now 5.

    Massacre at the Alter

    The party meets a halfling, Raphael, bound upon an alter at the lowest levels, before invoking the wrath of the cultists by attempting to leave without sacrifice. Holding their ground, Raphael, Gibbs, and Soul all die to the shambling mound woken by the remnants of the cult before Camille, Gromm, and Brokill manage to escape.

    The escaped members of the Death house encounter other survivors of the mists, Neuma, Zaffard, and Benedict, who are presently speaking to a noble who condiscends their performance inside the house before promising them aide and leaving into the mists at the edge of the village. The two groups join, again bringing the party to 6.

    Following a raven to the Blood of the Vine Tavern and Inn, the Mistwalkers meet Ismark Kolyana, who enlists their aid to help his sister who grows ill after visits by Strahd. Agreeing to assist him in moving her to the town of Vallaki, they plan to meet up on the fourth day and depart.

    Broon accosts Beor

    The brothers, Beor and Broon, engaged in a vicious argument on the edge of blows. Nuema attempted to end it by destroying the source of the animosity, a pastry in a brown bag. Beor lept to protect it, sustaining mortal injuries, and Broon ignored his brother's state to quickly eat it. As the party watched, the effects took hold and Broon entered a dream like trance.

    The House of the Morninglord

    Rushing with the injured Beor, the Mistwalkers arrive at the house of the morninglord to heal him and gain knowledge of the strange village. They find that the Priest, Father Donavich, is happy to help but has a grim crisis of his own. His son Dormu had been turned into a vampire by Strahd, and is kept below the church. The party learn about the devillish ruler of the mists, and after healing Beor, promise to return.

    Seeking supplies, the party arrives at the only general store, Bildrath's mercantile, and do their best to ignore the cracking wails from next door. They promptly discover that the wares are of a poor quality with prices even the most affluent patrons would balk at. A few testy exchanges and small transactions pass, but they learn that the sounds nearby are from a bereaved mother.

    Mad Mary's Lament

    The party finds the house the wailing comes from to be in disrepair and disuse. Furroughs of dust mark the floor from the stairs to the table where food in progressive stages of rot lays. Goint upstairs, the party finds the distraught woman, Mary, as well as the room of her daughter Gertruda who seems to have been seduced by Strahd and spirited away, seeing him like a fairytale prince. The Mistwalkers spend several hours cleaning the house for the catatonic woman and pledge to keep an eye out for her daughter.

    Exiting Mary's house, the Mistwalkers encounter a dour elf who introduces himself as Strahd's Castellan, Rahadin. Berrating the party for requiring his masters aide informing them of dire consequences should they damage or sell the equipment, he provides several powerful boons from Strahd's own armories. In the process however, he serreptitiously collects various hairs and bits from the Mistwalkers, yet reacts in outrage when this behavior is asked after by Minospryn. Ending his business, he leaves into the mists before the sun sets.

    The Mistwalkers observe a procession of specters, of all races and origins, stemming from the church graveyard and marching solemnly beyond the village. Camille recognizes several members of her own order, and Benedict attempts to contact one ghost mentally. He is unprepared for the buffet of woe and despair however. The collective psyche of these fallen heroes, the previous generations of mistwalkers, have joined together as one in their loss.

    As they arrived in the dead of night, heralded by silence, the mistwalkers were met with suspicion and distrust at the gates of Vallaki. A young noble, Valda van Holtz, aided the party's entry, guided them to the Blue Water Inn, and paid for their rooms before retiring to her own across the hall with a promise to talk in the morning. Castle Ravenloft a receeding memory, with thick walls and warm beds, the party gets the first proper rest since arriving in Barovia, and a few hold dreams of this extraordinary new acquaintance.

    Upon arriving to Saint Andral's Church in order to discuss the disposal of the remains of Zaffard, they are informed that due to his status as a soulless husk, a funerary pyre is necessary and wood will need to be collected.
    Additionally, Father Petrovich makes a personal entreaty to the party that they recover the missing bones of Saint Andral, the churches namesake, and thus restore the divine protections it was bestowed with. Leads are given and the investigation begins.

    After destroying the Abbot's flesh golem, harming a number of his patients, tearing up the garden, and otherwise creating all manner of mayhem in their fight with the wight's, the party agreed to the Abbot's request for a resplendant gown, a wedding dress for his creation.

    Valda's Curse

    After recovering the Sun Sword and showing it to Valda, her vampiric nature was revealed. What followed was an explanation of her involvement at murdering the Von Holtz family, subordinated to Strahd's will, and her vampiric curse afterwards. The party tested Ireena for a similar response, but found she was only averse to the light, but not harmed by it. Thus they knew she was not yet fully turned.

    A Mourning of Love and Fury
    Marriage

    Requiring a cure to their wight cursed members, the mistwalkers sojourned to the pond at the north of krezk, investigating its restorative properties. Cleansing themselves, it occurred to them that they may be able to halt Ireena's transformation with the powers of the spring, and possibly even cure Valda of hers.
      However, journeying towards the Burgeonmaster's manor at which the women were staying, the party discovered them already en route to the waters. Ireena in the lead and Valda protectively following. When questioned, Ireena said she felt as if something called her there, and the party escorted her the rest of the way.
      Upon arriving, an image of a man bearing resemblance to Strahd, but bedecked in regal armor and radiant smile. He reached out of the water towards Ireena, and the party realized with a start that this must be Sergei, Strahd's brother and Tatyana's husband. Recognizing that Ireena was the reincarnation of Tatyana, the party allowed Ireena to enter the water and move towards his embrace.
      Yet not all was well. In halting motions, Valda attacked the party as if posessed, uttering in Strahd's voice how Tatyana was his and that he would not lose her again. Defending Ireena, the party allowed Sergei to reunite with his lost lover, pulling her into the water protectively and bringing her to shelter.
      Outraged, Strahd shouted "I am the land, and you shall know my fury" through Valda before unleashing a torrent of lightning upon the mistwalkers and then forcing valda to sprout grotesque bat wings and fly off towards Ravenloft.

    The Fires of Krezk

    After the lightning resulting from Strahd's fury, the mistwalkers frantically aided the residents of Krezk in snuffing the flames that engulfed their town. Afterwards, the Burgeonmaster thanked them but asked if they would leave such that no further ruin would be brought upon Krezk. Wishing Ismark fairwell, the mistwalkers made camp outside the gates for the night.

    As mists enshrouded Krezk, the party heard faint sobs coming from near their tiny hut. Venturing forth, they discovered Strahd, day drinking and severely upset. Talking to him, it became apparent that he was distressed by Tatyana's loss, and the fact that she was now forever beyond his reach. Sbkhtp and Tim consoled him, realizing that in many ways they were the only ones he could truly interact with in these lands.
