Sorcerer

A mage that learns spells innately from their natural affinity for an astral element.   The sorcerer makes learning magic from their particular element look trivial, they are so inherently in tune with it that they can observe a mage cast a spell they had never seen, and cast it themselves by the end of the day. On the other hand, a spell outside of their element is so foreign to them that they could spend a life time trying to understand how to cast it.   On top of their talent for learning spells, they also need no spell focus to cast magic, as they are able to rely on their soul's innate connection with the element they use. They do not even require spellbooks to keep track of their spells, anything of their chosen element is recalled to their mind as quick as they could remember their own name.   Because of the requirement for a deep connection to their element, it is rare for a species to have a sorcerer born among them if they do not already have an affinity for an element. For example humans are rarely born with the natural gift of sorcery. It is also rare that a species will have an element outside of one they are affiliated with, especially among those species deeply imbued with elemental powers, such as ci or dracos. There have been recorded cases, but none of them occurred naturally.   Sorcerers are subcategorized based on their element, making 12 types of sorcerers named simply the element name (or its colloquial name) + sorcerer, or a shortened version using the elemental root prefixed in front of "mancer." For example a sorcerer of heat could be called: Heat Sorcerer, Fire Sorcerer, or Pyromancer.
