Sword of Atla

"You will hold this sword, you will guard this sword, you will use this sword. This is your sword now my son. This is the sword of a Polaris king".
King Leon IV

History

King Leon Polaris brought the destruction of the city state of Lau, setting the precedent for the many places that would come under Polaris rule.
Held by the first king of the Polaris Kingdom, King Molan, during his conquest of the Anniy River Valley. On his deathbed, Molan Polaris gifted the sword to his first son and heir to the throne, Momo Polaris. After this and during the entire existence of the Polaris Kingdom the sword was always given to the first born child, who was also heir to the throne, whether that be male or female.

Riana the Vengeful after the sacking of Hana. The worst of the Rheyans' treatment by the Atlans was put on full display here.
After the invasion and conquest of the Rhosaya Republic by Queen Riana Polaris, or Riana the Vengeful, and the killing of more than a million Rheyans, many people's views on the Polaris family soured even more then they had over the last few centuries. So after the treaty of Krisie and the unification of the Dayarin Empire and Polaris Kingdom into the Kingdom of Atla, King Leon Polaris V finally retired the Sword of Atla, believing that peace had finally been achieved with his marriage to Clophea Immie. He handed the Sword of Atla over to the Rhosaya district as a gift, marking the true end to Polaris conquest. The sword now sits guarded by over a hundred of Rhosaya's best soldiers within the Temple of Rhos within the historic city of Hana, one of the harshest cities hit by Riana's conquest.

Folklore

Atla Plateau region in the modern day Anniy District.
Nothing more than a few Forebearers that lived on the Atlan plateau, Lily gifted one of her children, Molan Polaris, a sword with immense power. Said in scripture to have been a gift from Poppy to Lily as a means to manipulate her. Carved from the purest Lilite within the Plain of the Stars and enchanted with some of Poppy's magic, which is what gives it it's blue hue instead of pink, this sword did nothing more than serve as an accent piece for Lily until she handed it over to Molan. Due to the strange meld of powers within the sword Molan's own power was increased, purifying the ground he walked on into pure Lilite and the air he breathed as well. Within this new increased power Molan created the Polaris Castle. Created entirely out of Lilite, Lily Forebearers flocked to this beacon of power, building the city of Almne around it.

Abilities

  • Polaris Family: The Sword of Atla gives a substantial increase in their powers to anyone of Polaris blood who holds the sword. Giving them the power to build entire cities out of Lilite.

  • Rhydans: A much more unknown ability of the Sword of Atla, it also gives powers to normal Rhydans. Being children of Poppy, and being enchanted with Poppy's magic, the sword gives anyone with Rhydan blood the abilities of the Polaris Blush.
