Manaros

"Used to be we were the center of the world. Sure, we were never as well off as Chalon, but everything they got their soft hands on came through our port and their coin passed through our hands. Now, of course, we might as well be the edge of the world. Sure all the Sisters are still out there. But their sails don't cut through the mist no more. Nah, visitors ain't the same consistent presence they used to be. And what's a port city without its wares in need of moving and trading? Or guests in need of room, board, and entertainment? A ghost town, I'll tell ya. And we'll all be ghosts 'fore we see the glory days of Manaros come back from the dead."   "Yeah, yeah, Dorgan. You tell us every night. But you haven't walked through a wall yet, so this ghost town ain't all dead yet."
— Exchange overheard in the Captain's Tankard

Demographics

An extension of the Cadwalian Empire to speed up transportation of raw materials and crafted goods from Eirlys to Aerona, much of the population consists of human citizens from Chalon. Within the small community, small minorities of halflings, dwarves, and gnomes can be found as well.

Government

Once overseen by an empirical advisor who served as an extension of the emperor himself, Manrosa now looks to a single mayor and a single peacekeeper who are both elected in the odd years to ensure the community's wellbeing and survival.

Industry & Trade

Once a bustling waypoint for travelers between the two northern sister islands, Manrosa is nought but a sleepy fishing town lost to this mists like so many others. Whereas the city once supported several secondary industries based on the raw materials which would arrive in transit, the town mostly scrapes by on self-sufficient production of foodstuffs and other essentials.

Infrastructure

Besides the docks, the Captain's Tankard is the most frequented location within what remains of Manrosa. A simple, wooden structure in the heart of the village, the Tankard's barkeep Finvias is as gifted a storyteller as he is a brewer of ales.

Guilds and Factions

In years past, the Fishmonger's Front were a loosely organized, but powerful union which set the prices and quantities of each particular local catch. While the Front still exists and operates, it is mostly a social club for tired fishermen to gather and drink and tell tales of their experiences in the mists of the Dela Sea.
