Military
The main military force of the Empire is the Imperial Legion. The Knights of the Order can also be called upon to fight by the Emperor if needed.
Technological Level
The Empire has in the last 50 years undergone an industrial revolution. This revolution has brought about the advent of the steam engine and electricity, among other things. The Empire also has fairly advanced military technology in the form of gunpowder firearms.
Religion
The Empire is monotheistic in that they do not allow the worship of any other being as a deity other than the Sun Goddess Rakshi. That being said, celestial spirits called "kami" and elemental spirits such as the Cardinal Spirits are honored in ceremony and even prayers. The established religious organization of the Empire is the Shinri, and its Shugenja make up one of the Empire's most powerful noble classes.
