Westol
Westol, originally an island settlement several month's journey by ship from Sheoreka, declared its independence some hundred and fifty years into the Imperial Era. Now, it is a diplomatic force to be reckoned with, with a powerful military and a grand history of literature.
History
Westol declared its independence in 151 IE, to an indulgent pat on the head and no change of policy from Sheoreka. This led to gradually rising tensions that came to a head in the summer of 1050 IE, when Westol declared war with the intent to properly establish themselves apart from Imperial rule.
It took nine years for the Empire to surrender; by that point, Westol had soundly beaten them up and down the continent and chased them out of their waters for miles around. It was a resounding and well-received victory on Westol's part — on Sheoreka's, more of a humiliating defeat, if a relief from the constant war.
