Kenku
Having a similar build as the aarakocra native to Resa, the kenku are a mysterious avian race that appeared on Resa one day. Despite their talented memory, no two kenku tell the same legend of their origin. Since the Sundering small groups have been able to be found in many of the large cities across Resa. Having an innate skill for mimicking voices and duplicating the craftsmenship of others, kenku tend to find themselves caught up with criminals who would use their abilities.
When kenku are young they have no voice of their own and must communicate by mimicking the voices and words they have heard from others. As they get older and experience the world they learn to turn the collection of mimicked voices into a voice of their own. Despite having their own voice, many kenku fall into their old habits of mimicking voices.
Mordenkainen's Monsters of the Multiverse gives the kenku the ability to speak. I'm tying this ability to worldly experience so you can choose how to communicate if you'd like to play this species.
