Aarakocra
Aarakocra are a bird-like people found all across Resa, with a majority in Miastrath. Following the destruction and loss of the Divine Sundering, the twin goddeses created the aarakocra from the birds. They gave them a sacred purpose to help connect these now separated cities and towns. To achieve this, the aarakocra formed the Messenger's Guild and fill its ranks with their best fliers, navigators, and adventurers.
In honor of their mother many of birds chosen were songbirds, but aarakocra resemble all kinds of birds. One resemblance that stands out are the aarakocra with jet black feathers and sharp minds like the wise raven. Those that resemble ravens and other corvids, tend to make up a group within the Messenger's Guild known as the Order of Ravenell. The Order acts as mages within the guild providing divination and communication spells for higher priority messages.
Typically aarakocra can be have wings and arms or wings as arms (still have hands). I haven't decided either way which this world will be, so if you want to play an aarakocra, let me know! We can figure it out. They'll work the same mechanically either way.
