Black Palace

The Black Palace (also known as the Hanging Throne) is the home of the king of New Hallownest. It is an impressive construction of wood and stone, grown down from the ceiling of the New Hallownest cavern via magic.

Purpose / Function

The Black Palace was created to serve as a home and impressive seat of power for the king of New Hallownest. In September of 23 ARL, the people of the city discovered that numerous Underdark cities and messengers would not communicate with New Hallownest (and by extension, Darkhome) if there was no clear reception hall or way to contact the king directly, and the Black Palace was designed as the solution to this problem.
