2020/08/02: Pirate War Preparation Report
General Summary
Knight, Pele, Drake, Sith, Lillith
We checked out the northern island while waiting for the Mask of Hades to come into full effect. We found big lizards that seem to turn into big, stealthy crocodiles when they go in the water.
Telescope warnings:
Logs that eat people (giant alligators).
Stylish pirate ship filled with cult members that has a marilith demon (with a blindfold) as a lieutenant. Ship has white flag. Cultists are alive.
Guy in mysterious black captain’s coat by our engine.
Drake shouldn’t stay on the helm too long. Something about him turning undead, I think?
Mechanical pirates. Pirate golems?
Underwater scene, male person in some sort of tube, skin is pale purple or bluish. Slight build, closer to elves. Looks somewhat like Humphery. Has gills. Looks like he’s trapped or in some sort of stasis pod. “Release the end boss” vibe.
A dead man with a pirate hat. Davy Jones, but less tentacley. Has big ship that looks like it has a petrified kraken head on the back.
The giant alligators have hands. Knight has no idea this is unusual, so he hasn’t mentioned this to anyone. (Turns out they’re actually kroxigors.)
Helped Pele search northern island for treasure:
Found one spot of unknown treasure that was in alligator danger zone, so I just marked it on map.
Found lost legionnaire skeleton with curiously intact body shield and red cloak. Whispered “Victory” when we picked him up.
Found sand pit with buried chest, along with spirit underground. Heard a wolf howl while looking for spirits and life. Found ghost underground guarding chest. Left it alone for now, marked on map.
Treasure 60ft down under solid rock. Very magical. Probably accessible from underwater. Marked on map.
Sith made friends with the kroxigors. They want somewhere safe to be, they want us to unseal a particular thing, and they want the undead dead.
Skeleton with shield is Cassius Fireshield. Owed Hades. Has now been animated as powerful undead and is working with us. Flirted with Pele.
Eastia is ghost who was guarding sand pit chest. We recruited her and Zagrius revived her.
Zagrius, Lord Of All Things Reptile. A valheru, also known as a dragon lord. God-king guy trapped in tube under center of island (in water) by gods. We entered his dreams to speak with him without freeing him.
We freed Zagrius. He gave us boons in return. Sith is getting Zagrius’s help getting followers (which in this case involves an entire new species of worshippers). Knight now always reacts first. Pele got (charisma buff?) and pseudodragon companion who she named Dr. Julia Heroborn. Drake got a pair of powerful magic rings. Lillith got something that made people talk about Disney.
The kroxigors did some recon. There are currently just shy of 50 ships in the area.
