Shiver Town
They come over here, they take our jobs, they take our clay and our fish, our perfectly clean fish! They are not bringing their best folks; the criminals, the low-life, the people they don't want, they send them over here because they are jealous of what we have. We need to build a wall west of Lakir Nataki to keep those dirty dreamers out, and make Apex pay for it! We will make Okkawa great again!
Government
Shiver Town is administered as a territory of The Apex Republic and is ruled by an appointed Governor.
The Governor appoints a city council, one seat on the council is reserved to a representative of House di Donato, it's a known secret that the family is the real authority in Shiver Town.
Defences
A tall stone wall surrounds the central area of the Town, well maintained and topped with ballistae and guard towers.
The harbor is protected by an ocean chain that can be raised to prevent access by all but the largest ships and a fortified cannonade aimed at the bay.
Industry & Trade
Wares shipped from The Apex Republic to The Crimson Coast are taxed by the city at a much lower rate than the tarrifs levied on trade between the two factions, this has allowed the city to become a prosperous trading port.
The city historically relied on trading Iron from the Sullen mine, but after it depleted it has started to rely on foreign investments and fishing to sustain itself.
Infrastructure
A prominent wharf with multiple shipyards busy at all times, yet the port is too small for a city of its sprawling size.
A large farm area outside of the town is supported by a handful of windmills and a sophisticated irrigation system.
New workshops have recently been built to build and maintain equipment for the The Apex Expeditionary Force , that are currently in Western Haru to deal with the Undead invasion. This influx of craftsmen and supplies has led to a minor economic boom in the town.
History
The first colony of Apex was originally intended to become a beacon of trade and diplomacy with the isolationist and prosperous Crimson Banner, however when the first curious visitors from Crimson came upon the fledgling settlement they contracted a myriad of strange diseases that they unknowingly brought home to the Crimson coast, starting multiple epidemics, this was only the begging of the streak of sour diplomatic incidents over the year as a result of Apex's ambition.
When first settled by Apex, locals coming to trade or negotiate often found themselves leaving sick and "shivering from the cold", thus the name "shiver town".
