Puerto Rico Gains Statehood

Despite various issues in the House and Senate, President Winston Hill signs an Executive Order which states that Puerto Rico is a State within the Union.   The basis of the argument is how long the Territory has existed longer than most before statehood and that it is Undemocratic and indeed unconstitutional to deprive them of their rights any longer.   The Executive Bill clarifies that Puerto Rico will get House and Senate elections in the midterms. Republicans across Congress and in the Supreme Court contest the executive law however enough Republicans mysteriously drop out after House Industries donates to their campaigns in 2024.   The Final challenge was the Supreme Court. The Court ruled that the Executive Ruling overstepped the President's authority but maintained that the decision to do so was sound. Despite heavy resistance, SCOTUS approves the statehood of Puerto Rico in the interests of National Safety and Stability after months of endless protesting.   Despite all odds, Puerto Rico managed to gain Statehood in 2023, and can now partake in US Democracy.
