Bio-Terria, a Research and Development Institute established by the United States Government to decode and reverse engineer Information left by UAP crashes makes the largest advancement yet. Deep underground near Area 51, the Scientists were able to create a totally new Breed of Canine with nothing but parts of Dog and Wolf DNA.
The new Dog breed, The Arctic Shephard was created. The Dog was created based on German Shepherds and Arctic Wolves. The Dog was named Adam and Adam was given a Eve to have a family with. Eventually, after a Stable Generation of Arctic Shepards had been made. Bio-Terria calls their first experiment in this field, a success.
Further improvements would have to be made, due to Conditions known as Celluar Degradation that is common in First-Gen creations such as these due to incompatible Genetic codes causing cancers that shorten life spans.
By 2028, The Arctic Shepard was a fully stable Dog Breed that is healthier than some of the original Dog breeds and capable of being bought at the pet store.

They didn't just breed a Shepard and an Arctic wolf together, there was no dog at the start. This Species was fully created in a lab based on DNA templates. That's why it is an achievement.
After publishing the paper, the Insitute elaborated that given enough time, Humanity could even generate new ethnicities for itself or create new types of humans. The Research can also lend itself to the restoration of extinct species.
Such as Creating a T-Rex capable of surviving in a Modern environment with a optimised motablism and stomach to preserve itself and nearby animal species. Eventually they could restructure entire eco-systems by modifying existing animal species and allowing them to eat previously invasive species.
