Space Travel & Planetary Colonization

Also referred to as Sublight Travel in more Modern terms. The State of space travel is quite advanced in Neonphage, though Nuclear Holocaust has wiped out countless countries and lives,  Humanity's spread albeit slow has continued within space. Mars is a chief example of Colonization progressing in our solar system. In the 2020s a series of advances such as reusable rockets, better frames and advancements in space station designs, with the advent of Nuclear fusion, Space Stations became a big thing within Earthen Civilisation.
After World War 3 the majority of satellites and Space Stations are divided between the remaining last big nations, the biggest of which is the South American Treaty Organization  and the The United States of America.  In terms of companies the Hotoka Corporation and Maxwell Industries are the majority owners of private space stations and satellites.

Tech Involved

In order to create off-world colonies you need more than space stations and satellites. Before Mars was cut off, it received regular advances from Earth-based space agencies which gave them technology adapted to the martian atmosphere. Mars also developed its own agricultural methods for creating food-specific and genetically engineered Flora designed to survive on the surface and produce Oxygen from carbon.
Mars became very efficient at pumping ludicrous amounts of Carbon into the atmosphere and then using Martian Algae to absorb and produce oxygen, kick-starting Flora on Mars and beginning to thicken the atmosphere. AI-led terraforming also affects the planet by generating new forms of life from organic matter ground on mars, mostly under its surface and found in Ice lakes in an attempt to recreate the environment that once existed many millions of years ago.
Another vital piece of technology is Fusion Power, Martian Fusion plants are based on SATO designs given to them in exchange for Martian goods. Maintaining a Healthy relationship with at least South America, they've been able to advance technology and catch up with Earth despite the chaotic start. They also benefit from Russian and Chinese Knowledge as Pre-Fascist versions of their societies exist on Mars
When it comes to resources, the most popular method of Asteroid mining is Laser mining, cutting minerals out with lasers and then using Drones to collect substances from those asteroids. They can also change the trajectory of Asteroids, especially if organic matter is found on them. Mars prefers to further seed their world with life by first capturing specimens of the organic matter finding out all there is to know about it and ensuring that it is safe before releasing it into the Martian ecosystem, slowly developing flora and fauna from other worlds.
Mars has also established official contact with Extraterrestrials describing themselves as the 'Authority' and that the Solar system is under lockdown. Desptie the bad news, Martians were quite delighted to confirm that they were not alone in the universe.

Mars was colonised in the 2020s and has spent since World War 3 uniting the disparate colonies even of other nationalities into the Martian Planetary Government. It is one of the largest planetary Democracies functioning in the current period and has about 7 major Megapolis due to the way that Mars Exists. The Climate is semi-breathable within the cities but most still require rebreathers.

Space Stations are common within the current era, there are millions of humans living in space in these conditions, often it is the rich, scientific or militaristic persuasion rather than standard civilians. Space Stations are very secure and quite advanced from where it was in the 2020s. Fully functional hydroponic farms, manufactories and what not. So long as there is asteriods to mine and a planet to support them, they could go on like this for a long time.
Especially when it comes to repairing them.

Space Mining is the primary economic export that Stations provide, often mining unique gases, materials and standard materials back to Earth, enriching it and reversing the resource deprivation experienced on the planet. Hydrogen from Saturn and Uranus is one of the most common gas supply efforts found in space. It's believed that once Earth becomes a Multi-Planetary society, it'll depend greatly on these space miners during the Early colonization phase.
Mars already showcases this with their vessels mining space rocks for raw material they can't find on mars and can't trade with Earth due to current global politics. 

While no Active War is ongoing, the Mars Defense Forces have engaged with Neo American Ships in hundreds of skirmishes. Mars is a very much Anti Fascist Colonial Power and that puts it at odds with the largely nationalist and imperialistic earth-based powers. Great Russian and Imperial Chinese ships have also been attacked by Martian fleets. Occasionally MDF SF Operatives have coordinated with Rebel elements in Neo America against the House Regime.
Mars has also been attacked, in 2067, Neo-American Forces attacked Mars with Anthrax missiles and hit the capital City of Apollo 1. It killed thousands of people and would've killed more if it wasn't for the Colonial Medical Organization, CMO, there would have been many, many, many more. As such the Relations between Earth and mars are definitely more negative and Hostile then positive and cooperative.
