General Physical Condition
Sir Rufus is surprisingly fit for his age and social standing. He regularly engages in hunting and fishing as well as a series of morning exercises to always appear able bodied.
Identifying Characteristics
Sir Rufus' eyes are very pale blue and seem to stand out against his pink skin. In his youth he was considered quite handsome with this disarming eyes. But these days, most people find them to be rather cold looking.
Apparel & Accessories
Sir Rufus always dresses well for the occasion. Of late he has taken the ostentatious habit of wearing tall hats to court and wearing several rings on his index finger as is the current fashion in the Guild Islands.

Personal history
Born to a middle-class background of shopkeepers in Mystemere Reginald left home early to serve with the local contigent of Theosians troops protecting Mystemere at the time of Duke Kadmos' invasion. That force immediately merged with he Duke's troops and helped put down the insurrection of Dorian families that rebelled against the conquest.
Afterward he shifted to the business end of the army working on supplies and trade deals with the Duke's ministers as well as making connections with various Barons and ambassadors. He served well for the army for a time, but eventually left after being knighted for his services.
He took his wealth (not so mysteriously skimmed from his dealing while working for the Duke) and established himself as a key merchant and middleman for much of the trade in and around Mystemere. Several poor decisions and embarrassing breaches of etiquette have caused Sir Rufus to fall out of favor with many of the Duke's ministers.
Eventually Rufus attempted to use influence with an ambassador from the Confederation of Ithan to smuggle agents of the Black Eagle (the Duke's tyrannical cousin) into Mystemere. Unfortunately for Rufus, the ambassador was much more interested in stable economy offered by the Duke and not the mess that would occur if the Duchy fell. She turned Rufus into the Duke's guard and he was arrested and awaiting trial.
Duke Kadmos then turned his attention on crushing the Black Eagle once and for all. It was a spectacular failure, as the Black Eagle had obtained help from the The Brass Horde. The Duke was killed, what family survived scattered in exile. The Black Eagle tore through the Duchy and took Mystemere. Rufus was released from prison and given back his title and wealth in exchange for remaining in Mystemere and helping to rebuild it for the Black Eagle. Rufus agreed to this, against the advice of his inconsiderate wife.
Rufus is now living in Mystemere with the title of Castilian of the Black Eagle. He learned very quickly that his new master is much more volatile and paranoid than any noble in power. Rufus does what he can to keep the Black Eagle happy, but is now living with under the constant fear of being found unworthy and sent back to the dungeons.
Education
His father taught him much of what he learned about business, but he picked up quite a bit from his dealing with Ithanian Guildsmen during his time in the army. In trying to fit in with the more sophisticated nobles of The Grand Duchy of Kadmos Sir Rufus has attempted to read a wide variety of subjects, but finds philosophy and history to be especially tiresome.

Had a love affair with the elven diviner from Caeden Farne Ell Xanthos . Their son Xanorin is a well known merchant/adventurer.

Worshiper of Ashtyr but not especially devout.
