Pit of Tartarus
The Pit of Tartarus is a massive sinkhole that goes from the very entrance of The Surface to an unknown depth of the Underground. It is unknown as to what made the Pit, but it does not appear to be natural, as it is a perfect cylinder descending into the earth. There have been several attempts in order to utilize The Pit of Tartarus for quicker traveling down the different layers of the underground, but because the pit opens up to The Surface, it allows the Iron rain to fall down the pit and makes travel using the pit extremely dangerous. The Iron Rain does only seem to be able to travel a certain distance down, but it is a significant enough distance that travel in the upper layers of the underground must be done within the layers itself.
