Coin of the Passerby

Many passerby claim few items than that which is on their person. That is not to say that every passerby has not amassed items during their travels. Few passersby use their condition to amass wealth. While even fewer use it to spread wealth. The wealth that they share does not follow the same value as many monetary systems of commonfolk. Passersby can share treasure they have gathered and have no need for, but generally the wealth they bestow is in the form of stories and chance. Certain passerby craft coins or other small trinkets which they give to individuals whose paths they cross and are fond of. These coins on first glance don't appear to be much but each contain a power in tune with the very universe.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Each of the passerby coins hold a power respective of their creator. In addition to whatever abilities its creator imbued, each coin has a soft vibrational hum and acts as a chronol-anchorpoint. Possessors of a coin find themselves more aware of the variance of time. Often in the form of feelings of deja vu. Possessors may see glimpes of how events can unfold just before they do, or may intuitively know which choice to make without fully understanding why. But most importantly, this chronol-anchorpoint is not for the possessor. Rather it's for the timelost. Possessors of a coin will soon find their lives filled with more interesting chance encounters with passersby or other unusual entities.

History

The custom of a passerby handing out distinguishable coins was started by The Fool and The Favored. During their many travels throughout the universe they began leaving coins in their wake. The oldest recorded coin appeared to be made of silver and depicting a moon making a jovial face and wearing a fool's hat. However overtime it was found that they maintained their original condition. Despite scratches, chips, and corrosion, overtime the coin would return to the state that it was made. Healing any damage it accrued as if it were a living being.   Recordings of similarly unique coins began popping up throughout the universe. Across Shometrian worlds and the wilds of Slavalon, and even in the depths of the gilded city of Naeheamar. Coins bearing strange iconography and seemingly hiding bizarre abilities. Wizards, artificers, and many other magically adept became curious of these strange coins. Adepts and collectors would often request vagrants of Slavalon or adventurers in Shometria to search for these coins. Returning them for a handsome fee to either study or add to one's collection.   Each instance of a passerby coin being discovered came with a story. Sometimes one as inconsequential as a taverndweller tossing a coin to a local after a conversation. Othertimes the associated story is more dire. The story seemingly affecting the abilities of the coin. Possessors of a passerby coin tend to find an uptick of variance and uncertainty in their lives. Giving opportunity to tell the tale of the coin they carry. Similarly, possessors often claim to wield some power either granted by or channeled through a coin. However the truthfulness of this power comes with the same skepticism that comes with the validity of the respective story.

I'm intrigued - I have no idea what a passerby is, but the description of the coins and their properties already makes me curious. I need to check out the myth next. Also, the zalgo text in the sidebar is a really cool idea - it instantly told me that there was something unnatural about this.
