Bloomstone
Bloomstone are crystals ranging in size from a thumbnail up to a fist and possibly larger. They softly radiate verdant green light and originate exclusively from The Darkwood.
In cases involving larger Bloomstones plants have been known to swiftly grow out of control, and one report claims that a magical plant turned against it's master after it's treatment.
As Bloomstone poison sprouts plants from the site of contact or injury, dealing piercing damage, it is effective against monsters whom are otherwise resistant or immune to poison (beings that don't have circulatory systems for example). Conversely, beings resistant to piercing damage may resist it's effects.
Bloomstone Poison effects scale based on the size of the Bloomstone used to produce it:
The target may end the effect by taking an action to remove the plants, dealing 1d6 piercing damage in the process.
The target may end the effect by taking an action to remove the plants, dealing 2d6 piercing damage in the process.
The target may end the effect by taking an action to remove the plants, dealing 3d6 piercing damage in the process.
Bloomstone poison, a less scrupulous use of the Bloomstone crystals is a contact/injury poison that causes small plant life to burst forth from a wound or contact site. It's effects are quite disturbing, even by poisoning standards and it's use for anything outside of study would likely be considered illegal in law-abiding settlements.
A character proficient with a Poisoner's Kit can make an (DC listed Below) Intelligence (Poisoner's Kit) skill check during the course of a long rest to produce:
Bloomstone Chip Poison. DC 12. Using one Bloomstone Chip and 10gb in other alchemists materials.
Bloomstone Fragment Poison. DC 15. Using one Bloomstone Fragment and 100gb in other alchemists materials.
Bloomstone Shard Poison. DC 18. Using one Bloomstone Shard and 500gb in other alchemists materials.
Uses and Effects
Bloomstone effects scale with size and are still being explored by the wider world. It's possible that the Darkwood Elves know a lore more of their function, but such secrets are closely guarded. Students of magic, alchemists, and even gardeners have been experimenting with it's use. Some unscrupulous folk have even employed it's use in poisons, a practice quickly becoming outlawed in most civilized places. Primarily, Bloomstones seems to promote extreme plant growth, both in terms of speed and plant health. In the case of medicinal herbs and magical plants potency and yield has also been observed.Dangers

Acquisition
Bloomstones are occasionally found by daring adventures (or cunning theives, depending on your perspective) in The Darkwood. Reports claim that they can be found where particularly unusual plants grow thickly, in overgrown natural caverns, or even lodged in ancient and mighty trees. Sometimes an Errant Darkwood Elf will barter Bloomstones to help buy a place in their new worlds. While Darkwood Elves a normally open to bartering pelts and herbs they have been known to get aggressive when asked about Bloomstones, even attacking parties seen gathering them.Bloomstone Poison

As an action, all Bloomstone poisons can be used to coat a weapon or 3 pieces of ammunition. Removing a Bloomstone hunk or larger from the Darkwoodwould certainly be a serious undertaking, requiring special consideration towards transportation, handling and protection.
