Yosha Rainewood
Physical Description
Yosha is a tall and rather slender Centaur with a paint type coat in dark brown and white. Their hair is also multicolored, as is their tail. Typical of many Centari, they keep their hair up at all times and partially braided, and in attempt to also follow the traditions of the Pack of Ferventi, also keep a shoulder length section of their hair loose.
On their right arm. Yosha has a partial sleeve tattoo in
Divine Runic that they have steadily been working on over a period of months.
Yosha will shoot bows and rifles lefty. Other weapons, they will often switch hands depending on circumstances.
Mental characteristics
Currently, Yosha is not settled into any one role within their pack, and instead fills a variety of roles on an as needed basis while undergoing their training as a hunter. Oftentimes their duties take the form of patrols, guard shifts, foraging, processing food, and caring for the pack's various animals, such as their horses and war wolves. Yosha is not particularly fond of cooking duties, which they will often pass off to other members of the group, Ryoten in particular.
Their nickname, "Wolfthorn", is a result of a petty disagreement with the pack's wolf riders, in which they were frequently called 'a thorn in (their) side'. The disagreement was over different navigation techniques, and Yosha often beating the wolf riders to their destinations and waiting for them long before they arrived, oftentimes abandoning other members of the group. Other members of their sect have at times explained the nickname much more crassly, as "(He's) a massive prick, it just fits."
Personality Characteristics
They like to collect rocks and pressed flowers, which they often keep in a journal in their kit. They are also a picky eater, often making their own food rather than joining the rest of the group, but still often joins them at mealtime for company.
Social
Yosha is often considered to be quite haughty and arrogant, especially for their age, even within their own sect of the pack and even earned their nickname through being a pain to the wolfriders. Many older members of the pack believe that they will eventually grow out of it and mature, while some of the younger ones think of them as having too high an ego and needing to be put in their place sooner or later. Their personality may in some part be due to the near constant ribbing and jokes at each other's expense from older members of their sect, such as Burke and Ryoten, with Wolfthorn not understanding that kind of relationship with others is earned, and not something to be done right off the bat.
coworker / apprentice (Important)
History
As an aspiring hunter, Wolfthorn was placed into Burke's care as an apprentice, as it is common for members of the pack to train one another. Due to inexperience and a fair touch of ego, Yosha often has trouble heeding Burke's advice, and Burke in turn a habit of being quite harsh on his apprentice.
Despite this, Yosha does look up to Burke, and more often than not willing to take part in his pranks, ribbing, and 'friendly' bullying of other members of the group.
History
A commonality in the Montana sect. Yosha was initially placed under a caretaker to adjust to the group's life. Yosha underwent this adjustment period under Ryoten's care for a period of a year, and was then put into his trials to become a hunter for the pack.
The two get along relatively well, however, are not particularly close, treating their relationship as one more centered on work rather than mutual friendship. At times to others, Ryoten has expressed he believes he may have given Yosha the all clear too early, due to his more volatile personality.
History
A more unusual friendship within the Montanan sect, as to outsiders, Rika and Yosha often appear to barely acknowledge the other's existence, but are quite close in reality. The two often take part in more mundane duties for the group such as foraging, repairs, and tracking, isolated from other members.
