Ancient of Filth Character in Reason's End | World Anvil

Ancient of Filth

Ancient of Filth is a Power - one of the godlike rulers of both the Material Reality and the Elsewheres. Like in the case of other Powers, it's unknown how exactly it looks. It isn't even known if it actually 'looks' in conventional sense, being a concept itself more than anything else.   Filth is generally considered to be the most diverse of Ancients, at least in terms of the number of aspects - aside from its native Filth, it also encompasses Pestilence and Famine. In sheer number of aspects it equals Ancient of Desire, but Filth is actually believed by some scholars to be a result of a merger between Entropy (previous name of Filth) and at least some elements of Death. As a result, it de facto incorporates elements of not three but four aspects.   It is generally considered to be one of the nastiest of Powers, if only because of how disgusting and generally all-around nasty its domain is. Its typical depiction of art is that of something large, decrepit and rotten (but what exactly, that changes with every depiction).

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Filth has very little established facts when it comes to iconography. In fact, even if it had it, its own core tenets would demand it to be run-down and otherwise ruined.

Tenets of Faith

The Ancient of Filth demands things to give up to entropy. Wherever things are rotten or dead, there is always a chance of encountering followers of Filth. This ranges from morgues to even places that produce or sell blue cheese. Other common choices are junkyards and, sometimes, facilities that deal with recycling things. That's, naturally, merely the most common shell facilities.   It is not unheard of the filth cultists to also be the immortality seekers. Filth, after all, might spare you from entropy for some time. If that's the case, however, the actual outward appearance of such cults can be pretty damn nearly everything.
