City - Larndorf

Location

The city of Larndorf sits near Sturmgard's border with Lynora in the west. An important trade nexus, it lies along the primary land route between the two nations. This route is favored by merchants seeking to avoid the treacherous Nord Sea and the Heimer raiders who plague its waters. The city clings to the foothills of the Valpine Mountains, with its districts stretching like branches into the craggy hills at the mountain's base.

History

"Larndorf" translates to "Hidden Village" in old Jermane, a name rooted in its origin during the 1st Heimer Incursion. At that time, the region was under Heimer occupation, and Larndorf was founded by the Jermane resistance movement as a secret sanctuary. From this hidden stronghold, the resistance launched raids, conducted guerrilla warfare, and prepared for the uprising that would eventually reclaim their lands. For over a century, the Heimer ruled the area, and during this time, Larndorf grew cautiously. Although it was nearly discovered on several occasions, strategic distractions and clever maneuvers kept its location concealed.

After the Heimer fractured and the Jermane reclaimed their lands, Larndorf transitioned from a hidden village into a thriving city. Despite its growth, it retained its original name as a mark of recognition and pride. It quickly became an essential trade hub, a role it continues to fulfill. During the 2nd Heimer Incursion, Larndorf's inland location kept it safe from the raiders. In the 3rd Incursion, however, it became the northernmost bastion against the invading Heimer forces, withstanding a siege that ultimately failed to capture the city.
