Valpine Mountains

The Valpine Mountains, a series of towering, snow-capped peaks in northern Kleriel, form a natural barrier between the regions of Arboria and Empyrion, extending from the Jagged Sea in the west to the west where they meet the formidable Messial Mountains. Dominated by the industrious Ezren Dwarves, the majority of this formidable terrain is claimed by their fortified Dwarfholds of Ezrenhelm.   The mountains derive their name from the dense forests of pine trees that blanket the valleys, ''Valpine'' combines the valley's lushness with the pine's evergreen presence. The mountainscape is a network of rivers that slice through the land, creating an intricate lacework of gorges and precipices adorned with numerous cascading waterfalls. The beauty of the region is stark and wild, ensnaring the senses with its splendor while cautioning the unwary of its latent perils. The natural defenses offered by the Valpine's rugged terrain have successfully repelled the ambitions of the Vallarei Elves, whose attempts to breach the stalwart Ezren fortifications have become little more than a historical footnote.   Beneath the Valpine's jagged peaks lies a wealth of minerals, which the Dwarves tirelessly extract from the heart of the mountains, ensuring an abundance of resources. The forests, rich and renewable, provide ample timber, ensuring that the Dwarves are well-supplied both above and below ground. Historically reclusive, The Cataclysm heralded a new epoch for the Ezren, prompting them to ascend from the confines of their subterranean strongholds and embrace the surface's valleys, inaugurating a harmonious coexistence with the world above their ancestral halls.
