Bounty Hunter

"When there's a right bloody mess to clean up, and nobody has the skills or guts for the job, one may always fall back on cold, hard and pure gold to summon those that are just too damn good at killing things to do the dirty work.   Our profession may come with many names. Killers for hire, mercenaries, free military, you name it. Though we prefer Bounty Hunters, aye with a capital on both letters.   You may ask, what seperates us from the rest of our sorts. An answer which I'll gladly indulge you in. Us Bounty Hunters may be classy and oldschool with our ways, why give up on a winning concept after all, yet we are still trained with some of the best magitech that Molkovia has to offer.   Mayhaps what you need for a job is a few electric caltrops to stun the enemy to the core with. Or perhaps a few incendary bombs to make the fouler crowds turn tails.   Naturally we can't just hope some tricks and cantrips will do all the job, so here is where our best friends get introduced.   The Model .77 Helwing blaster combined with your magitech essentia core are the tools supposed to keep us alive, due to it's infinite ammo capacity and liberty from reloading, as long as the core is fueled, gives you the might of the elements in one blaster which can be used to blow thine enemies back to the night with.   Should all of this fail you, and the only options are to run or die, it's always better to fail at the moment but have a second shot at your bounty. For this the rocketboots, cloaking device and Helwing Mk-05 Drone will come in handy to get you out of the pickle. But be carefull, those machines are not some cheap scrap you can come by in the Olden Districts markets.   With that out of the way, I hope to see you at the Bounty Hunters Academy in the near future, should you choose to pick up our ancient but freshly steampunk art. Untill then, be well hunter."

Career

Qualifications

To even make it into the academy of Bounty Hunting, one must already be a skilled hunter in some form of regard. If you don't know the proper end of a normal rifle's barrel, or if you've yet to tango with a wolf or other beast, you are nowhere fit enough to become a professional killer.   Most that make it into the Bounty Hunting school have already been soldiers since the day they were old enough to be out on the fields. Either that, or they're the lucky children of more reknowned hunter families.

Career Progression

Once fully educated, a Bounty Hunter reaches their fame (or infamy) through the efficiency of their methodes and numbers of contracts completed. Some Bounty Hunters end up having their renown die before their mortal shells, which caused many an Inn owner or head of a farmstead to secretly be a professionaly trained killer in disguise.   Other Bounty Hunters have their names echoing so far and wide, that they may be more feared and well known than evening kings and queens. Although debateably far from as rich, influential and powerfull. With an exception for the almost guaranteed untimely death a Bounty Hunter may suffer, which may just push them over the line to become a more famous historical entry than your average ruler.

Payment & Reimbursement

For a Bounty Hunter, there is no middle class. You're either dead or a failure, or you're filthy rich. After all, the risks they go through on a daily basis is not work for the feint of heart, and with so many other military jobs or special forces which allow them to do similar work in groups, or run for officer roles with equal or higher pay, they need to be compensated with quick money.

Other Benefits

Except being paid in droves, and having a shot at becoming famous and feared, the Bounty Hunter has immense benefits when it comes to the law, and avoiding it's consequences.   As they are their own commanders, meaning they have no real orders to follow, a Bounty Hunter is technically a vigilante whom has been offically allowed to run things their own way. Thus they do not need to abide the normal military rules or customs, but can serve on their own morals and motivations. Be they pure or selfish.
