Vanishing Woods

The forest closest to Hornhaven once use to give the villagers more game than they could hunt; yield more crops than they could eat or sell. But that's all in the past now. The forest now only yields decaying bodies and corrupted animals and vegetation. The villagers of Hornhaven say the forest now belongs to The Crone.

Geography

The southern edge of the Vanishing Woods touching the village of Hornhaven looks like a normal forest, excluding the bodies nailed or hung from the trees in different states of decay. Deeper in the forest the trees wither away and lose their leaves being replaced with cobwebs. The forest floor is covered with bones, icor, and dust. The plants that do grow are thorny or poisonous to humanoids. Some of the plants are rumored to be sentient but it could be a fable. Deeper into the Vanishing Woods is the Swamp of Tears, a large five mile swampland that swallows travelers and creatures alike.

Fauna & Flora

There are some flowers that are native to the Moon Sea of the Feywild. Winters Kiss: A small lavender looking flower that when brought close gives off the sensation of being kissed. Spiders eye: An eight bud plant that when in full bloom the buds look like the eyes of a spider. Snow Lilies: Small white flowers that pepper the land and spread very quickly.
