The Jesters of Titania are always limited to five in the court. All the jesters are hand picked by the Summer Queen herself.

Structure

All of the jesters are equal in rank and only answer to the Summer Queen herself. Not even the Summer King can command the jesters without incurring the wrath of the jesters or the Queen herself.

Tactics

The common tactic for the jesters is to use illusions to obscure the battle field and allow the Summer Queen to escape. If the attacker can see through illusions naturally the jesters will engage into physical and magical combat. One jester always remains with the Summer Queen. If that jester dies in the line of duty a new one is summoned to her side instantly.

History

The Jesters of Titania were established of the play of Summers Night was performed by mortals to appease the Seelie court during the early Age of Umber. Titania was so impressed by the performers of the play she requested them from the director. The director agreed to trade the five performers for an increased lifespan and unlimited inspiration.
With the performers in her possession Titania converted them from their mortal form into the first Jesters of Titania. Their forms, perfectly crafted by Titania, have always remained the same even when new fey or mortals are chosen to join the court.
Some jesters have tried to kill the Summer Queen, and others have left the court. The most notable betrayal of the court was the assassination attempt by Jester Spring Light. Jester Spring Light was the closest jester to ever killing the Summer Queen, but at the pinnacle moment another Jester intervened and slew Jester Spring Light.
