Yester Hill
Yester Hill was just where locals knew the Tergs and Neureni who died on Barovian soil were buried. It was only until after the Mists claimed the land that it started to display things of the past, leading it to be named Yester Hill. The local druids still carry on traditions from the days before twisted to suit their more necromantic leanings, much to the disapproval of those inhabiting the graves.
Until recently, there was a tree at the highest point that people whispered had bark holding eyes and spilled out monsters. The residents nearby now speak of a hole there, filled with old charcoal and something akin to burned bones.
Geography
The area is a large hill surrounded on all sides by dense forest. It's difficult to tell what shape the hill may have been before the addition of the graves that cover the vast majority of the area. On the smaller of the two levels on the hill is a ring of large stones perpetually being struck by lightning. Some claim that they can feel an immense presence when standing inside them, like an old grandmother was standing next to them. The taller section of the hill once held the Gulthias Tree, now marked by a deep hole.
Localized Phenomena
The closer someone gets to the hill, the more phantoms of old battles seen in Barovia they witness, either by sight or sounds. Once on the hill, anyone who looks west will see a view of an old fortress built much like Castle Ravenloft and hear, faintly, a bell tolling off in the distance.
