Castle Ravenloft

The castle will now have a mind of it's own! I'll need to shove all of the castle onto one page in Roll20 so the party can be on different levels at any point. Traps will be more real, more deadly, and far less kind.
Castle Ravenloft towers over the land, claiming the best views in the demiplane if the Mist, cobwebs, ancient guardians, and deadly traps didn't darken the atmosphere some. Strahd von Zarovich has called this fortress home for as long as he has ruled Barovia and it has protected and aided him against invaders, uprisings, and outsiders for hundreds of years to the point where some visitors swear it seems almost alive.   Recently, the Creature calling itself Strahd has deeply entrenched himself inside, twisting the structure to match it's masters new lack of humanity. While the castle's staff are still able to perform their duties, unwelcome guests may find it difficult to navigate the now twisting, Mist-wreathed passages inside.

Purpose / Function

This is the best defense point in the country, perhaps the demiplane. Designed for military use first, aesthetic second, and comfort third, Castle Ravenloft is a nigh impenetrable fortress able to be seen from any point in Barovia.

Alterations

The basement had a tunnel added below in the 6th century and Strahd von Zarovich did repairs to it once retaking the land. In the last four years, the current occupant has set to sinking more magic into the stones making up the building, making it appear to be made of black Mist.

History

The newest castle to stand in this location, it was built by Strahd's grandfather and was further improved on by the Count himself. Here was where the disastrous Wedding occurred and where the seat of Barovia's government has been ever since.
