Mors Cohortis

(a.k.a. Death, Vampir)

The Elemental Dragon of the Demiplane of Dread is the physical form of the Dark Powers. Their base of power draws primarily from the deal made with Strahd von Zarovich and the other darklords, but is typically siphoned off into the actual running of the plane. In the case of them actually manifesting, that energy would be redirected, causing large scale damage across the plane.
During times where the bulk of the Powers needs to confer with a physical being, such as when baiting a target, they appear as Mors in a smaller, more humanoid form. It was like this that the Powers scouted out many of their eventual prisoners in, typically using the beginnings of their bond to the target as a way to fuel the form.
