Cult of the Morninglord

Early on in Ravenloft's history, Martyn the Mad was saved from vampires by a outsider gold elf. Young Martyn confused his savior with stories of Lathander Morninglord, of the Prime Material Plane, and a cult was born. It's largely popular in Barovia, with few people in other domains taking notice of the religion. Many of the artifacts and buildings left behind by the Church of Andral were scooped up by the developing cult and claimed as their artifacts and buildings, leading to many of the name confusions seen today.
