Introduction
For as long as there has been
Hallus there have been the
Hives. For most of this time, the
Chitinfolk that thrive in the great tunnels under the charred earth of
Hallus have maintained a cold war with the vertebrates above. Conflict only arose when the creatures above dared to dig into the hives themselves. Unfortunately for these ground-walking creatures, the
Hives have begun to dig their way out from the earth.
Frankly, I hate this template. I don't know why I started it. So here is just a list of units the Hives use so I can rip this article apart later. Please read my other Smmer Camp content instead of this one.
Hive Units
Dweller
Burrowing beetle-like creatures about the size of mice. They live under homes and feed on the blood of mammals. They function as scouts.
Carver
Horse-sized beetles equipped with shovel-like mandibles that can dig through stone and earth slowly. Use for excavation or destruction.
Tunneler
Comes in two sizes. The first are the size of a common snake, they find the weakest points in the soil. The second are the length of several carriages and dig massive tunnels followning after their smaller kin.
Retcher
Large beetles the size of a carraige with a bulbous, larva-like backside that pours out metal melting acid. Used to get into highly defensive buildings.
Constructer
A group of specialized, dog-sized ants that do most of the construction around hives. They are able to produce a wax-like substance for building. Each hive has its own type of Constructer.
Keepers
Trapdoor spiders that are able to grow in size to fit any entrance required. They keep the entrances to the hives locked tightly and never appear to leave their assigned location.
Courier
Slug-like creatures coated in hard chitin that has many places to hook or store objects to be taken to our from a Hive.
Leaper
Grasshop creatures the size of cats that can also fly if required. Known for jumping into settlements and causing havoc.
Harvester
Fanged worm creatures that are about the size of an adult Phyrian. They consume the corpses of a battlefield and are harvested themselves later back at a hive.
Feeder
Giant honey-pot ants that make sure the Hive army is well-fed during long excersion.
