Overview

As Wingships and Dirigibles become more and more common on Marus there are a rising number of those who build, own, and operate them. These adventurous risk-takers chart an unknown field of science and study. Many of these Aeronauts suffer injury or death in the name of the progress and advancement of their field. The cost of the profession of Aeonautics is prohibitively expensive and has caused very few aeronauts to not come from some manner of wealth. This "wealthy man's hobby" has given the common man the impression that these individuals are nothing more than whimsical time wasters. There is little true respect for the professionals themselves, but there is respect for their complex flying contraptions. Each is a mechanical wonder and they remain the only reliable transportation to and from the Cloudtop Sea and the ground below.
