Ormur- Citadel of Cintras

City History, Culture, Trade and Description   The Citadel of Cintras is a large tower on the outskirts of Ormur's capital where the Mages of Cintras have gathered their power and influence for the past 300 years. It has a series of towers connected by walls, with a very large central spiral with 3 tower prongs protruding from it, in the center of the compound. A small detachment of eldritch knight guards patrol the walls and interior, dressed in polished silver armor and owl helmets.   Important Characters   Arch Mage Reggrom of Clan Thundergrip- A elderly Dwarven mage, He has a bald head, dark red eyes, and pale white skin. Dressed in the uniform blue and white trim robes or the arch mages. He is a rough and aggressive speaker, spent a long time as a battle mage and then a hunter before ascending to becoming an ambassador in Gladrian and then Arch Mage.   Arch Mage Amity- the youngest of the 3, she has very long, curled, golden hair and cyan eyes. She served as ambassador to Ormur and was Head Master at the Citadel for some time, only recently became an Arch Mage. Cunning and intelligent, she is often seen as a mediator, but has her own ambitions and is a talented manipulator.   Arch Mage Vyncis- A blade singer mage, Vyncis has long black hair and grey eyes. He wears light armor accented by the robes of an Arch Mage, and wields an ornamental rapier. Vyncis has an animal companion familiar, a red fox named Cilia, who sits at his feet. He is calm in demeanor, but his calmness can turn to ice when he's angered. Spent time leading Cintras Guard detachments against Somicks, and as Ambassador to Gladrian before becoming an Arch Mage.   Head Master Cynbald- an older mage and recently retired ambassador from Arnet, he has long grey hair and a bushy mustache. Prefers traveling clothes but will done a robe when at the Citadel, and always seen with his large walking staff. Recently took over the position from Arch Mage Amity.   Hunt Master Becket - A handsome blade singer mage. He is the head of the Mage Hunters, and is in charge of assessing threats and directing any military forces under the Orders control.   Notable Buildings and Rooms   Meeting Chambers- A large circular chamber with 3 seats, the walls covered in tapestries depicting the various accomplishments of the Order. This is where all official meetings and hearing between the Arch Mages are held. It is at the top of the central spire, and the Arch mage towers all connect to this room.   Learning Halls- The second floor of the central spire is dedicated to classrooms where the Learners and Apprentices practice and study their works and lessons. 3 classrooms filled with tables and shelves of magical components.   Kitchens- Located below the main entry hall of the center spire, this is where the food is prepared, as well as where the Learners and Apprentices eat. The senior members of the order eat in their own meeting halls higher up in the tower.   Library- located above the classrooms, this section takes up the most space in the center spire, shelves that go up 3 stories and thousands of books. Magical seekers (small silver figurines that come to life) help find books when asked, and can be seen climbing over the book shelves like hoards or tiny ants.   Servants Tower- where all the servants live, including the guard barracks which is located on the 1st floor. Kitchen staff and other servants live on the floors above.   Learners Tower- The smallest of the towers, this is where the Learners live and study. The bottom floor is a common space, with a small study and training room above, and the 3rd floor dedicated to male and female dormitories.   Apprentice Tower- Similar but slightly larger and nicer than the Learners living space.   Masters Tower- Far Taller than the first two, this tower holds space for all masters currently living here, new rooms magically made to accommodate new comers. The tower itself is open concept, with spiral staircases on either side leading up to the different levels of rooms with an atrium in the center.   Arch Mage towers- Three smaller towers jutting off of the main spire.   Observatory Tower- The 5th and final tower, dedicated to a large telescope on the top floor, a large auditorium classroom where lectures take place, and a quiet meditation chamber where the Mages trial takes place.   Dungeon- Located deep under the central spire, this is where mage prisoners are held, as well as where they conduct experiment on captured sorcerers. Small holding cells, torture rooms and surgical equipment are all things on display. Can only be entered however from a hidden passage in the library.   Other NPC’s   Librarian- Master Argeth is tall and slender human woman, with brown hair and light green eyes. She is often seen with her Faerie Dragon familiar Stix, who enjoys playing pranks on learners and apprentices.   Enchanter- Master Mathye is a male dwarven enchanter, often found either in the library or in his workshop on the classroom level. Rugged in appearance, with brown hair and large grey eyes. He wears consistently dirtied silver robes and wields an enchanted dagger. He worked as a blacksmith before coming here, and still knows that trade well, but now he prefers to use his animated tools which do that hard work for him.   Ridkin- a male hlafling working in the kitchen. He has sandy blond hair, and a soft face. Not the best cook and is always being punished by dish duty. Secretly working for the Talons as an informant, was rescued from an owl bear as a child by one and left a lasting impression (is terrified of owl bears now).   Apprentice- Symes, has a square face, with black hair and hazel eyes, dressed in the uniform apprentice robes. Symes is impatient, and gives up if something seems to be taking too long, crone to Alard.   Apprentice- Alard is pleasant in appearance, with auburn hair and green eyes. Alard is easily distracted by arcana, eager to please his master and kiss up, but tends to be a bully to those he considers his inferiors. Apprenticed to Mage Hunter Lasym.   Master- Cedrica, a halfing woman with long auburn hair, dark blue eyes and a gold circlet, dressed in a velvet red dress with gold trimmings. Her hand is blackened and skeletal, a curse slowly killing her from touching a cursed artifact she discovered several years ago, and as a result is desperately searching for immortality to prevent that fate. Having an affair with Master Becket.   Mage Hunter- Lasym, he is a tall human from Madgar, with copper hair and brown eyes. He wears plain clothing and wields a quarterstaff. He is seeking to hunt down a Madgar sorcerer who killed his family in an explosion of power 15 years ago, then escaped into the wilds.   Guard- Ivy de Bolbeck, human woman she has cropped, wavy, red hair and brown eyes, dressed in the silver breastplate and owl helmet of the Cintras Guards. Eldritch Knight, she was a learner here but did not prove worthy of the trials, yearns to be more.   Servant- Maeri, a female halfling servant who often is dusting and cleaning the central spire and learners tower. She has short, wavy, blond hair and brown eyes, dressed in dirty clothes and apron.   Other Notes-   Several Different roles and titles. A learner is a student just learning to control their magics. If they have proven themselves, a Learner undergoes a transformation spell, and then is Apprenticed to another in the Order. There are the Mage Hunters, who lead small squads of men as delegations to kingdoms, eldritch knight guard detachments, or most notably tracking down either Sorcerers or rouge mages. Masters are fully fledged mages who enact the Orders will across the continent. Ambassadors advise leaders and push them towards the Order's agenda. There are 3 Arch Mages, who lead the Order from the Citadel.
