Kord

Kord

Kord was partner to Jerrel, the man who killed Will's Mother.   Kord was one of a pair of gamblers from Aspienne Fief during the first war with Morgarath. His friend and partner in crime was called Jerrel. They robbed bereaved families whose men died in the war, taking advantage of there no longer being a man to protect them. They also used loaded dice to cheat other soldiers out of money.   Jerrel and Kord would welcome someone to their gambling group and try to cheat them by using loaded dice. First, they would get their victim's confidence up and get them drunk, then they would switch the dice after they had placed high bets and take the money for themselves.   Halt, while trying to learn the location of Daniel's Farm, was directed to Jerrel and Kord since they had been asking questions and knew a lot of people. That was their method of sizing up possible victims. Disguised as a soldier Halt joined the two in their tent and, while pretending to be drunk on their wine, fed them false information intended to spook them. Later that night, Kord and Jerrel deserted with plans to rob the homes of deceased soldiers in Aspienne.   Halt tailed them, but by the time he had caught up, they were already in the process of robbing Daniel's Farm. When Halt intervened, in the confusion, Kord fell into Halt's drawn seax. Thinking Kord was dead, Halt faced Jerrel. Using his last bit of strength, Kord grabbed Halt by the ankle and pulled him to the ground, and then died. Jerrel, seeing his opponent had fallen, rushed forward to finish him. Daniel's Wife then leapt on his back, pulling him away from Halt. Jerrel lashed out with his dagger and slashed her side. Halt, having risen, finished him off with his throwing knife.
