Sel Thiran
Sel Thiran is the famous lost city of House Rayes destroyed during the War of the Great Houses at the end of the second age. A fabled city of beauty and riches, the city has been hard to place after its eradication by Mothrar Gildaron in 2550, 2e. Despite being lost within only a few generations of memory, maps and tales of the settlement tell contradictory tales of its location, appearing in different places at different times dependent on the cartographer.
Many myths and legends about Sel Thiran have spread since its fall - including its apparent ownership of the Vaults of Frigga. It is said these vaults can be opened by two members of House Rayes bound by love.
History
Sel Thiran was founded in the aftermath of the Long Night in the mythic age when Frigga, joined by the host of Odin, destroyed the Forgotten God cultists in what is now Northern Asrinheim, supposedly slaying one of the gods in the process. The North was divided by Frigga and granted to the three houses who joined her battle. House Ardiylir would control Thevensyne and its surrounding regions, House Gildaron would found Iminiyas and control much of the coastal reaches of the region, and House Rayes was granted the northernmost point of the island.
The city supposedly housed a grand cathedral dedicated to Aerdrie Fayena, the consort of Corellon. It controlled smaller mining and finishing homesteads, and had a small but stable population. By all accounts the Rayes were fair and noble rulers. Living in their fortress of Sparrow's Nest, the Oathbow weilding nobles would forge strong alliances with other houses and be devoted to peace and stability throughout the region of Asrinheim.
At the outbreak of the War of the Great Houses, the Rayes' would stand against House Gildaron in their conquest of the north. Despite their alliance with the powerful House Ardiylir their outposts and settlements were destroyed and the city sacked by Gildaron in 2550, 2e. In the aftermath of this, the few survivors scattered throughout the Aedrinaran Islands - with the last of the Rayes' eventually exiling themselves in Jameleska.
Since their exile, several Rayes' have tried to find the lost city, including Taron, Maethir, and Falia Rayes. The city's location was given by The Piper to a The Dragon Clan agent known as The Arrow, and the map containing this information was stolen by The Suicide Squad and given to Doomed 2 Die.
