The Archipelago 141 AFW - Present

The Archipelago encompasses the entirety of Susilotyh Archipelago off the North-Eastern coast of Elyara. This includes 33 islands.

Structure

The King (or Imi) is at the top of the hierarchy, controlling the entirety of the Kingdom. The govermental system is derived from the Baku-Han system. Heavily centralised power, with strict and over bearing rules placed on vassels to force them into permanent submission. These rules include limiting military power, including military size and weapon numbers. Banning vassels from dealing directly with each other without authorisation from the central government. All deals, agreements and alliances must first be approved by the throne. Civil wars are strictly prohibited. Vassels were to hold no more than 3 castles within their territory, all additional castles would be occupied by the crown. Marriages between vassel famalies must seek the approval of the central authrority.

Culture

While their is a dominant culture throughout The Archipelago, this is more heavily present on Fyfes. Where as on the smaller Atollas, the dominant culture tends to mostly be present in the islands capital or larger castles towns, with the majority of commoners who live outside these towns sticking to their own ways, or a bastardised combination of the two.

Public Agenda

The main agenda in the early days of the kingdom consisted almost entirely of retaining control of the whole of Susilotyh Archipelago, including the surrounding resources the reefs and waters off the islands contained. This is due to the turmoltuous extended period of vicious civil conflict leading up to House Esiko claiming and maintaining control of Susilotyh Archipelago. Years of warfar across the islands made maintained peace the central goal.

Foreign Relations

Though some islands of Susilotyh Archipelago had good relations / alliances with kingdoms/countries/houses/organisations etc on the mainland of Elyara, the formation of The Archipelago as a Kingdom put an end to a great deal of this. This was especially true of the islands closest to the mainland, though not exclusivley. After House Esiko claimed control over the entirety of Susilotyh Archipelago, the lands of Great Houses and High Clans who faught against them were seized and redistributed to loyal families. As such, the vast majority of alliances/goodwill/friendship/trust that had been formed between the islands and the nations of the mainland were severed. Though new deals can always be struck, any deal and/or alliances made by the islands must first gain the approval of the central authority in White Crag.
