Brackish Grove

This coastal swamp can be found on the Northern coast of Quai Thu.

Geography

Fresh water flows from the Cascade River Basin along the Eastern edge of The Brackish Grove and its Northern Edge is met by the Aegir Sea. These two bodies of water combined with the grove's low geography makes the area a massive flood plain with shifting pools and waterways of saline water. Because of this, the area remains mostly unexplored and difficult to settle.

Ecosystem

The pull of the tides is the primary factor when it comes to the ecosystem of the Brackish Grove. While the Cascade River Basin does flow through here, the tide is strong enough to push the current of the river back inland.

Localized Phenomena

Those who enter the swamp or even approach it seem to have feelings of despair and fear. This feeling extends past just the dread of being in a swamp and has an almost supernatural element to it. It is theorized that this feeling is an aura the emanates throughout the Brackish Grove because of the presence of The Murkfiend. However, this is debatable since the aura has not faded after the Death Shepherd traveled to Cacung Dien.

Fauna & Flora

The Flora found here is quite unique to the continent. The largest of the plant life would be the mangrove trees with their spindly roots can can withstand the ever shifting landscape. In addition, grasses and vines that are accustom to the salt water environment are also plentiful here.
