5/21/23 - A Chimera With a Familiar Face

General Summary

Welcome Tasks departed from the ruins of Wolf's Moot with their captive, Flayer, under close watch. Traveling Northward, they made their way towards the Bo Sat Pass. Along the way, our Tabaxi ranger took note of several giant, both in size and species, foot prints. Proceeding with caution, Slayer came across a clearing with a single Lizardfolk upon a hill. Eager to flex his stealth prowess, the Tabaxi snuck around the reptile. Despite Slayer’s best efforts however, the Lizardfolk was aware of Slayer’s ploy. He introduced himself as Aglizzy, and invited the Tabaxi and his friends to camp with him on the hill top. It was lucky that Welcome Tasks joined him as they were in for an interesting evening. Sometime around the second night’s watch, Melkor noticed something approaching from the night sky. It swooped down from the shy just as Milam alerted the party thanks to his Sword of Warning. What came barreling towards Melkor was a three headed patchwork of a lion, deer, and a dragon. With the beast losing the element of surprise as well as some precision spell casting from Aglizzy, the party made short work of the monstrosity. However, before the chimera was slain, some incite into its motives were gleaned.
Melkor surprisingly felt a connection with the creature and attempted to talk to it. While the lion and deer heads said nothing, the dragon head said that it wished to take Melkor “home”. This intrigued the adventures and soon they formulated a plan to see where the creature came from. Their new friend Aglizzy took the time to wildshape into a giant bird and scout the surrounding area. Soon enough he spotted a patch of scorched earth in front of a small cave. Landing, Aglizzy squawked at the cave to see if any more chimeras were inside. Rather than a monster, a slender Tabaxi woman emerged from the cave. She quickly cast a spell, but Aglizzy managed to shake off the drowsy effects and flew away.
Returning to the party, the Lizardfolk explained what had happened and described how far the cave was. The rest of Welcome Tasks was suspicious that the woman was one of the The Tabaxi Sisters the party had been tricked by previously. They decided that they would head to the cave and stop the The Tabaxi Sisters from continuing their wicked ways. The party now finds themselves in the first chamber of the cave with clear signs that this is where the chimera roosted. However, there are no signs of the sisters yet and much more to explore.
