Rao
The Knowing Sage
Rao is the god of peace and reason. In life, he was a gracious king who was able to negotiate an end to a centuries-long conflict between his nation and two other neighbors. A humble and unassuming man, he declined godhood several times throughout his adult life, eventually caving in as an old man in the twilight of his life. He completed the Rite of Deification and ascended to his place.
This king's importance is hard to understate. As the architect of the first true peace in Liadon, he is often worshiped as the prime deity instead of Pelor on the continent. Expats and travelers from Liadon have set up shrines and small temples to Rao in many of the other major cities across the world.
His divine portfolio includes reason and exploring the world through curiosity to find answers. Alchemists, tinkerers, and sage arcanists all look to Rao for inspiration and guidance with their research. Rao rarely puts limits on finding knowledge, but focuses more on how people use what knowledge they gain through their observations and experiments. His main tenets revolve around using logic and reason to solve problems.
The main temple is located in Donagan.
